We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Fourth Connectathon of the HL7 Hong Kong FHIR® Connectathon Series 2023-2024. The event took place on August 5, 2024, at the HK Productivity Centre, bringing together healthcare professionals, technologists, and stakeholders to drive innovation and enhance interoperability in healthcare.

During the event, our distinguished speakers shared valuable insights. Ms. Louise Wong (Health Informatics Analyst I, Hospital Authority) provided updates on eHealth+. Mr. Rex Yiu (Health Informatics Analyst, Hospital Authority) delivered a comprehensive briefing on datasets related to Clinical Note / Summary, Investigation reports, Referrals, and Medical Certificates. Additionally, Mr. Michael Cheung (Systems Manager, Hospital Authority) discussed FHIR mapping for the same clinical documents.

Following the presentations, participants actively engaged in discussions, raising questions, sharing insights, and exchanging ideas. The atmosphere was dynamic and collaborative, fostering a deeper understanding of the latest developments.

An Online Follow-up Session was held on the evening of August 9, 2024, during which Michael Cheung explained the FHIR® exercises and relevant Interface Specifications to the participants.

This Connectathon received enthusiastic support from all participants, as in previous editions. We extend our gratitude to the Electronic Health Record Office of the Health Bureau and the Hospital Authority for their invaluable support.
