The Second Connectathon of HL7 HK took place on February 19, 2024, at the HK Productivity Centre. Distinguished representatives from various sectors, including governmental bodies, private hospitals, clinical groups, pharmacies, laboratories, and NGOs, actively participated in this significant event.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Mr. Alan Young (Chairman of HL7 HK). In his opening address, Mr. Young extended greetings to both onsite and online participants, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Following the welcome speech, representatives from the Hospital Authority delivered insightful presentations. Notable sessions included “eHealth Update” by Louise Wong (Health Informatics Analyst I, Hospital Authority), providing valuable updates on the latest developments in eHealth. Cally Chau and Mavis Pow (Health Informatics Analysts I, Hospital Authority) briefed participants on allergy and adverse drug reaction (ADR) datasets, as well as immunization protocols. Erica Lau (Health Informatics Analyst I, Hospital Authority) discussed PMI Matching Rule for eHR.
Mr. Michael Cheung (Systems Manager, Hospital Authority) led an engaging presentation on “FHIR Mapping for Allergy/ADR & Immunization.” His ability to simplify complex concepts made it easy for participants to follow and understand.
In the closing speech, Mr. Pascal Tse (Vice Chairman, HL7 HK) expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, the Hospital Authority, and the eHealth Record Office of Health Bureau, HKSAR. Their unwavering support contributed significantly to the success of the event.
To enhance learning and foster continued engagement, two follow-up online sessions were conducted on February 23, 2024, and February 26, 2024. Participants had the opportunity to delve deeper into specific topics, discussing cases with Mr. Michael Cheung in detail.
The Third Connectathon of HL7 HK is on the horizon. We eagerly anticipate meeting all of you once again and sharing valuable insights related to Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR).
